David:  Former Short-term Citizen Advocate

Volunteering at Dunfermline Advocacy has been a great experience for me.

I was given the opportunity to make a positive contribution in our local community and the Advocacy provided interesting, varied challenges over the last few years.  As a short term advocate the work has been manageable and provided the opportunity to meet some exceptional people.  Some are on the, always helpful, permanent staff and others, who face difficulties but remain cheerful and hopeful but require a helping hand.

Dunfermline Advocacy is of huge benefit to those it helps and has been recognised nationally with the award of an MBE. I am off to live closer to my family and will miss the work and contact with the friendly staff when I leave Dunfermline.
